    Hi there. I m thinking about trying to create a first mod but the main difficulty is that the 3ds max 2012 is no longer available at autodesk education site. Is it possible to do the same with 2014 version?

    well there are three possibilities:

    1. get max 2012 from some torrent site

    2. create your model with max 2014 and ask someone who still has max 2012 (like me or other modders here) to export it (would just take a minute). but you cant create layout files yourself with this one.

    3. use max 2014 (or any other software which supports .fbx file format) and the new exporter tool that came along with cxxl. but you can only do simple building mods with this one (no furniture, roads and other stuff) and cant create layout files with it. also your models will only work with cxxl. xl12/platinum will crash using your mod.

    layout file creator by altiris only works with max 2008 and 2012, he once told me he will update it for newer versions, but no idea when^^ the layout tool by fhi for xxl doesnt work properly

    im deeply sorry for this issue, but these are actually the only three options you have since max2012 is gone from autodesk site :(

    Ok. Not so good news. I ve seen that the Artist Suite is new as well and the thing is that the old version that was compatible with Max 2012 and compatible with CXL 2012 is gone as well....But thank u for your help!
