Here is a typical layout for the realization of a building at 45 °

    Example 2:

    Another example of base
collision box was reduced to fit the edge of the base of the building

you can use splines to draw your basic shape and extrude it when youre finished.
its all the same as you do with 90° buildings, except for the angles.

Personally, I start by drawing a template to allow me to know the lengths of each of my facades.

Then I model all the facades one after the other,

Once the facades made I put them up with the help of the tool "move" and the tool "rotation"

Then, I finish by welding the summits!

Do not forget to think of the link "wall to wall" with other buildings!

(y)Hi mate, what kind of template do you make, and wat exactly do you mean by modeling first the facades?
Do you mean putting the facades on the model shape them and welding them together? If so how do you do this with the 45degrees building? Sorry for al the questions mate but i want to learn how to make them its the first time for me mate :D

Explore using the small local axis button in 3dsmax at the top menu. Google "set local axis in 3dsmax" It allows you to reset the axis to run at 45 degrees or what ever angle and ensures that all your rotations and movements conform to this.

    Hi mates,
Is there any way to have guiding lines so you can folow them and snap your buildings correctly like you have in autocad? So i can start with making 45 degrees buildings.

    Cheers

    Check out these:

Right click on them for individual settings about grids, snapping and angles

If you need individual guiding lines you can misuse splines for this purpose

    Hi mates,

I still dont know how to use the grids, snapping and angles  Is there a tutorial about this, I search on the internet but found nothing about it?? I know in autocad you got construction/guide lines with magnetic objectsnap you can place them on 45 degrees, horizontal and verticaal, but it dont work in 3ds max?:( am i looking wrong or those this works different in 3ds max?

    Thamks mate,
This is verry usefull and clear instruction, but thing wat i am struggling with is, if use the drawlines to draw the 45 degrees lines for the building, is there a snapping tool to draw the 45d lines like for example: if i draw a straight line and want to go from straight to 45d and the from 45 to maybe 35 and then to straight and close the lines to extrude the lines to a building, is there a snap tool to do this ?
