Restart Mod Of The Month?

    Is there still a demand to revive this old competition which I used to find quite a bit of fun ?

    Although I yet have no intentions to get into modding, I think this was pretty interesting.
    Some modders here make artworks, so I think they should at least be credited.
    But maybe one needs a subcategory "Map of the Month" or a bi-monthly competition
    regarding the Maps? I mean, it is pretty hard to compare maps and buildings,
    regarding effort put in. At least in my humble opinion :oops:

    First of all thanks to Paul for having the idea to suggest a reopening of the competition: our modders are awesome and they deserve every type of honour we can give them for their work. Then, i believe kipate is right saying that there should be a map competition too! Can't wait to see this site alive, and this kind of things are the right input!

    I agree with kip, if we are going to have a mod of the month competition a map of the month category or competition is a must.

    I've been thinking about this a month ago when the old XLN was still there, but I've encountered one problem, only HW can give out credits and he isn't even active anymore. However now that we have Icy and a new better site, I'd say lets give it a try, it will be fun and will encourage modding a bit by doing this competition.:D I also agree with Kipate, we should do a map of the month, too. Whether if its in a category or its own competion, I'll definitely want this one as an addition. (y)

    The idea of Credits doesn't apply here so I am not sure what the reward could be. It could be a special title under the users's name

    It could be replaced with likes. I mean likes and credits are like synonyms.

    just a badge or banner aplied to the mod and the author - and maybe a side bar /front page addition listing them by month would be good enough I reckon

    BTW Icy, did you get anywhere researchin multiple poll options? - if it could be set up automatially that would be great - then its only 1 post per month listing all the mods for the preceding 30 days and the voting arithmetic can be done automatically

    You have the option when you create a poll to let folks have multiple choice, speaking of polls I have to update the style properties, it is not good with this theme

    Any update? I would like to see this happening no matter what the reward is, I don't care about that,
    it is just that this is going to be entertaining for most of us. :)

    Good idea Alex, we are still busy with migrating mods, when that is done we can focus on other stuffs like this.
