Cities XXL Saved Checkpoint issue

A saved checkpoint in the save/load panel has lost it's name. The name shows up only as "checkpoint ()".
I think because I used an improper character, specifically the '&' character.
Anyway, the saved checkpoint will not delete.
Is there a file for this saved checkpoint that can be found in the AppData/_/_/xxl folder somewhere and can it be deleted from there?
Continuously trying to delete it causes the entire interface to disappear.
Just worried it will mess things up permanently if not deleted, being the game can be a bit quirky at times.

Gotta love how you guys motivate me to do things for myself.
-I opened the file in np++, noted the save names that were there and working properly
-copied/pasted what appeared to be missing lines into the <tab key='#' > section of the nameless save
-renamed 'NAME' in the <itm key = 'Name' value = 'NAME' />
done

 

Worked like a charm.
