First - I don't want to post images from CSL as I'm frustrated by lack of diversity of building coming often with ugly colors (especially dense residential ones).
Second - I even don't want to think about "wide" range of available surface tiles (plaza's imperfect equivalent).
Third - I deeply disappointed about possible range of modding - for today only buildings and some props. Rest of things (roads, vehicles, tiles) is hidden in .crp files and there isn't available any tool to unpack these.

It seems I'm spoiled by CXL ;)

@justyburger I like your work so far, looks very realistic!
Nonetheless, I wonder whether those aerial perspective was probably the only one for CSL
at which the city does not look cartoonish. Your thoughts on this?

Thanks :) I like the above shots best. I always have. Everything looks better from a distance because the imperfections are less obvious.

I know where you are coming from because I've been a long time Cities Xl player. I've tried hard to make the best I can out of Skylines without such things as :No collision box, ploppable cities and everything custom. Skylines continue to frustrate me in my attempts at realism. The distance shots are always the more realistic, but even so, American suburban cities can look very realistic with Skylines because this is the type of city the game is best suited for. There have been some upgrades but I have mixed feelings about them. The European buildings upgrade was pretty useless in my view because they do look cartoonish and very ugly at that. Where I am finding some interest, is the building themes, which means you can set policies of districts and have certain types of buildings spawn. I'll post my most recent project here in a moment. You will see usage of American homes and some Swedish ones on the same map.
Skylines also have absolutely amazing maps. Really big, no edges, atmospheric, lots of colour corrections to choose from and absolutely hundreds to choose from. There are many things I like about Skylines but the frustrating things are very frustrating. It promises so much yet just falls short. For instance, you cannot make buildings hug bends in the road or even 45 degree angles and so the city becomes full of green gaps, which you then have to fill with the tree brush tool. There is no filler tool like Cities XL. Skylines should have taken the best of Cities XL and Cities XXL should have been more like Skylines. Cities XXL was going to be my return to the game but sadly it did not live up to my expectations.
