I tried something I had read about on the old XLN where two city connections can be built next to each other (You have to pause the game to do this) and make each of them travel one way using normal road pieces. I did this as I'm avoiding RHM2 due to crashes I had been having.
Trouble I have is that one connection complains about not being connected to the city hall. This effects the whole piece of road.
    Has anyone else experienced this?

Example of what I have setup.

Is the piece of road the one entering the city? Technically, whatever agent determines city hall connected-ness wouldn't be able to reach that road since it is only accessible from the edge of the map... but maybe I'm wrong.

Both pieces of road go all the way into the city and finish at the front of the city hall. I'll post some screens in a bit.

Within the city itself, if you place something on a one way road, like a fire station, nothing behind the fire station can be served by it, because traffic is going the other way. Since the other city is "behind" the city road system, the game engine doesn't consider it linked to city hall by the one way road that is inbound into the city.

It's a little bulky, but maybe this would work for what you want:

Your suggested city connection should do the trick and I'll try it out.

Well I tried it and it fixed the problem but after a few minutes the game crashed. This happens to me every time I use anything to do with RHM. I think I will just have to rework my road system a bit.

    Here's the error I have.

    [17:33:10] CORE mgTextureUtils.cpp ( 304) Assert hSaveRet HRESULT: D3DERR_DEVICELOST Description: Device lost

I walked away and left citiesxl running and came back to a crash.

I think that's what happened. Both times I had left the game running and walked away. That error has me puzzled as well.

You could use one expressway, Altiris' road divider thing and connect the two roads to it having them one way. If that makes sense.

I've used that connection system in the past and had no trouble at all, but I don't have any problems with RHM crashing the game. I'd follow Funky's suggestion then; same idea without the use of the RHM. What a drag for your game play.

I'll try out funkys idea as well. I get annoyed about the RHM problems I have. The last attempt I had setup my highways & bridges first so it was all done. Took hours of work. I started placing buildings and within an hour the crashing started. After that everytime the city was loaded it would last 10 minutes then crash.
If I make a city with no RHM I get the odd crash but have had the game running for two hours or more.
