    WIthout it I believe you don't see the all the menu buttons along the bottom left.

    Had to find a screen-shot of the interface to remind myself which buttons are in the basic game. Seems the mod is installed as the bulldozer isn't the last item.
    How easy it would be to check if I could just load up the game with the mod removed. Ha! Steam gives it back with a 'tut-tut, naughty' comment, each time.

    So, we have to run sandbox? Seems strange.
    Also Expert mode needs to be turned on at every load, even when I change maps mid-run. I take it this is a personal glitch peculiar to my set-up? Yes, it is set in basic options, but that makes no difference, Ho-hum.

    Ah well, thank you for your attention. I await for further much-loved mods with hope and fear. Quad bikes, anyone?

    Following numerous crashes I did what someone in an earlier message suggested: stripped all mods from my Pack folder and loaded the Community Mod from Steam.
    Now sandbox seems to retain earlier Expert Mode settings. Pea-culiar.
    Thank you for that, someone.

    What next, we ask ourselves?

    IMO..be sure to use these three mods if nothing else.

    XXL_Altiris_CommunityMod_v2.05
    zzzzzz_cxxl_enhanced_mod
    xln_moddingteam_dependency_furniturepack_v1.5

    I prefer to use the com mod from here in the resources.
    The cxxl enhanced mod has to do with the interface and will change it a little from the default game interface.
    The mods in XL 2009-14 resources are trial and error and take some time and quite a few crashes to get what mods you want to use from there.

    Not sure what you mean by play sandbox, but you don't have to use "play sandbox" from the play screen.
    Start path(what i use anyways):
    -Play / Load .... if you want to play the game normally and follow all the rules.
    -Play / Load / Menu / Cheat / Unlock all buildings ... if you want to jump right into building and get past all the "earned stuff" restrictions.
    Unfortunately you must reselect the cheat options at each new save or map start.

    Okay... What is confusing me are the differences between XL and XXL and how the game behaves - or is expected to behave.
    Dammit, I typed a long explanation here but realised you said 99% of it above and I agree with all that. 8)

    Okay. Yes, essential mods are in place like in XL and I usually play with a restricted advanced building set anyway.

    You don't mention the open resources and whereas I can play happily with some limited available buildings I am not happy if I can't put a farm where I think it should go and to heck with the green splodge.

    Should the limitless resources be driven by the new Community Mod like when using the UIM in XL?

    Incidentally I also loaded XXL mods from here, but wondered about the resources, so after booting them all out tried loading CM etc. from Steam as suggested. It didn't work. I thought it had, but I was wrong.

    I never use "play sandbox". I mostly like to build multiple cities that trade with each other for resources. So I tend to forget that sandbox gives unlimited resources on any map, which I'm guessing is the main reason for using sandbox mode.:oops:

    Tu doit savoir, que ce jeu ne serait pas le même sans le travail d'Altiris, qui a fait ce mod . :ROFLMAO:

    Is this a substitute for the CXXL Enhanced Mod? Are they both the same or will they both be needed for the game?

    Cities XXL Enhanced Mod... only remembers whether the view options panel was opened or closed and remembers the last location that the views options panel was moved to.
    It is not a dependency mod like the Cities Xxl Community Mod.

    hey guys sorry im a bit of a NOOB with this stuff. Im having a little trouble applying this patch to the game, can anyone help? i saved it already but whatever program i try to open it with it doesn't open. Thanks for your help!

    The Mod can be downloaded (file .patch) and copied to your "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities XXL\Paks\mods"
