    Population grew to 3 million people, the airport was expanded and public transportation system improved a lot..

    Palm Island Highway connecting the mainland and Palm Island. Palm Island Monorail was completed in 2005, future plans include extending the monorail line into downtown. The new monorail can be seen passing beside the highway and under the bridge.

    The original airport used for flights in the 1940s. Opened in 1939 and closed down in 1969 when the new airport opened in 1968. Now it is left decaying with the terminal decaying and abandoned planes still seen on the tarmac.
