CJ City Sytan: Find What You Want Here

A heavily multifunctional city struggling to be a top class international metroplis.

  1. Detailed City Data

For personal interests, S City's construction refers a lot to A.T. Kearney's city ranking elements. But that is a very big topic and this is just simulation. If any thing not scientific, you are welcome to figure it out!

    ■■■ Basic data of S:
■Location: west beach of a great continent near the equater.
    CS.jpg
    ■ Climate: tropical rainforest. The position of S' location on terra generally leads to desert climate because the wet west-blowing airflow easily depletes over the great land. However, on planet XL, it is covered by green. That's because the east part of the continent is high and the wet air cannot form rainfall due to gravity. As it travels deeper into the continent, the ground becomes flat and the heat evaporation takes control, so convective rain appears. Convective rain is usually accompanied with lightening and thunder, thus you'll see many of the skyscrapers are equipped with rods. The secondary reason for rainfall is that at nights frontal rain will take places as the difference of heat between water and land.
    ■ Area proportion: urban 600km^2, with suburb 1600km^2.
    ■ Population: permanent resident 6.7M. Besides this, commute population of S has another over 1.2 million contribution. "Living in one city and work in another" is becoming more and more common thesedays, which seems especially common in upper class employment. The main cause for this might be the land price of metroplis cities like NY and London is just too high, which is the same in S. There are over 20M travellers in S during the whole year, 12M of which are tourists and the others are for bussiness affairs, medical attendance or international comferrences. As a big city of chances, S drives many young man to her so over 60% of her population is within working age period (generally it seems about 50% of a country is within this period). But yet she still needs extra workforce from other cities (mostly satelite cities) for her large factories and offices. The percentages of S' income classes is - R1 common workers 16%, R2 skilled workers 32%, R3 intellectuals or executives 34%, R4 elites 36%. 1% is those who are really unlucky to be very poor and 1% is the toppest of the property and power (like the US). In my opinion, R3 and R4 belongs to the middle class.

    ■ Ecnomic distribution of S:

The satelite view of S. This also shows the industry distribution.
    1. Old CBD and her extension: banking, insurance, accounting, stock and law advice.
    2. Main CBD: managment of factories, offices, international company local branches and other kinds of production services.
    3. Seeshore CBD: extension of main CBD and trading affairs.
    4. High-tech Park I.
    5. High-tech Park II (Central high-tech area).
    6. HT Park II Extension: new industry and small companies. Small companies are extraly important especially in contries like US and Germany because the advanced manufacturing requires a lot of small scaled but extremely detailed technical support.
    7. Public researching institutions and small company politics area.
    8. High-tech Park III.
    9. The Great City Industry Circle: all kinds of maunufacturing factories.
    10. Heavy Industry Area.
About polution, totally 11 envirment institutions are used.... Otherwise the city would not be fit for living.

    ■ Basic facilities of S:
    CityS - 副本.jpg
    1. Animal husbandry prividing milk products which is not that convenient for transporting. Other than this, S imports over 80 points from Ominicrop.
    2. Civilian water process factory. It pumps water from the river instead of underground so to keep the soil of the city good. But that won't be enough to feed the citizens so S imports over 20 points from Omin.
    3. Industry reservoir. The main source of industry water is different from the civilian's. Its filled with rain or part of the recycled water. Industry cities consume a lot of water, as well as electricity power.
    4. Desalting facility providing water only for airport and nuclear cooling system.
    5. Nuclear plant is at least 50 km from the city, which applies for the command in some nuclear standard document. S nuclear plant includes four US Westinghouse GenII Model 412 1200MWe near reactors and further 2 Gen III groups of Europe EPR 1650MWe piles. The being-searched GenIV is based on Westinghouse AP1000.
    6. Solar farm and small amount of garbage burning for airport emergncy supply. S City depletes 10MKWe every year and the nuclear plant together with limited other source of power only makes up for half. S imports 20 points from Omin.
    7. S has no big openning garbage processing area as the only appliable place is near the sea but it will attract sea birds then threaten the airport. S imports 50 points from Omin.
