    Hey guys,

So I started building my city and even at 2000 population im having trouble with my traffic especially at the residential areas. Is there a mod to reduce traffic or any other suggestions on how i can ease the traffic congestion?

    cheers

if you're playing 'beginner' mode then wider roads and public transport will unlock later. select a road to see whether it can be upgraded e.g. to one way. highlighting a road also enables you to see the paths of the vehicles using the road, which may help.

and you may not know that within the simulation the only travel people do is between home and work.

at least. if you're using 'road' then they're too small for anything, i think, unless it's a dead end.

If I start a new town/city, I use the small avenue road for the main areas. Leave room for road expansion though otherwise you will end up having to demolish buildings.

You can try by isolate your residential block and provide only 2 or 1 access road (less is better so it not create lot of intersection on main road) to the main road, and make sure main traffic didn't use residential road by create some intersection on access road...this way main traffic will stay on main road
