    Hanholm has an extensive public transport system, one that, by at least one measure, is the most expensive in the world cause of many underwater tunnels and deep metro construction.

    It consist of Hanholm metro, tram systems and large number of bus lines. ​

    Most effective way of traveling through the city is by Hanholm metro, operating on 3 lines making total of 55 km tracks length and 33 stations. ​


    Aprox. 450 000 passengers are served daily.

    Hanholm tram system includes 5 lines with 49 km of tracks and 52 stations.​

    In districts like Mainbarg, Kiranu and Tanver, tram is main connection to centre of the city.​

    There are also 44 bus lines covering mostly suburban areas or places where metro / tram is not included.
