    Early settlement

The port was originally inhabited by the Uyreans, an ethnic tribe of Mayan ancestry. In the 13th century, an Arabian trade ship captained by the banished prince Haytham and his bride Fayruz settled in the island and established a treaty with the natives to live in together peace. The settlement later grew into the city of Dornst.

    Treaty of Cazul

In 1673, General Tordesillas of the Portugese trade armada and his allied General Franz Grufner of the German Trade fleet arrived in Dornst and settled a treaty with Sultan Yama to establish a new trading post on the island's barren empty lands in return for food and riches. The colony of Rheimn was established under the Treaty of Cazul. The Tri-Council was later formed made up of the 3 houses, Tordesillas (Portuguese) in the West, Grufner (German) at the Center and led by Dorne (Arab/Mayan) in the East.

    New World

In 1701, Prince Jean Vseich, his bride Princess Anne of France and their only child Prince Ricard, set sail to the Rheimn to set-up an embassy to act as a base for their mission to find new lands in the west. Unfortunately, Vseich contracted a deadly disease at sea and died a few days before reaching the island.

    Death of the Sultan

The princess later married into the House of Dorne, settling at the Alhambrava Palace, succeeding as the Queen of Dornst. However, the queen was again widowed when Sultan Alkhbur died. The death of the sultan brought forward an internal uprising in the House of Dorne as the unfavourable brother of the sultan, Rhemy Aldur, was given emergency powers by the heads of the house, who later declared war on the trade colony in order to gain complete control of the islands.

    Fall of the Houses

The House of Grufner fell first during the Battle of Leipzig Square, and its ruling family massacred by the Dornish invading troops. The house of Tordesillas followed and dispersed during the Battle of the Wyvren Gates. However, what is left of the remaining Tordesillasian army secured the colony from any further damage, driving the invading Dornish troops to retreat. With no one left to lead the surviving army, Queen Anne by default was given the power to lead. The French exploration armada was called back to Rheimn, in which followed the Great battle of the Vivre Plains. Following the assassination of Rhemy Aldur, the emergency power were lifted and Queen Anne took back the throne and merged the colonies with Dornst. The sultanate was then abolished and the Tri-Council disseminated. The island was united and formed into the Royal Kingdom of the Port of Rheimn.

    Golden Years

The city flourished culturally and economically in the years leading up to Queen Anne’s death in 1743, when King Ricard and Queen Poesy succeeded the throne. After the birth of their twin, Ricard moved the capital to the island’s center and the seat of power from the Alhambrava Palace to the Palais de Polignac. In 1748, following the King Ricard’s visit to the high oracle of the Saycyan monastery, he ordered all living descendants of the House of Dorne to death, to avoid future harm to his successors.

    Treasure Island

Following the French revolution, all funds to the island was nulled. Fortunately, funds came pouring back in like never before when a secret pact among Europe’s highest head of states nominated the port to collectively store its nation’s invaluable treasures, a place to remain untouchable whatever the circumstances and only known by a select few. Valuable goods, relics and even virgins were sent to the port to be kept safe during times of wars and turmoil. The island continued this secret custom until 1942 when the island was mistakenly attacked by the ‘Spot bombings of the Caribbean’ by the Nazis leaving much of its structures in ruins.

    Modern Rheimn

Under the rule of Queen Josephine in 1945, the Port of Rheimn was facing an economic turmoil with much of its treasures being called back to its respective countries. It wasn’t until 1948 that the Queen established the Rheimn to be the centre of the world’s luxury and exotic goods trade and exchange market, providing tax-free heaven and a place to deal safe and discreet transactions.

    4/5,
Very nice... the history is great and I like that "Dornst" area. However I'm not a big fan of that straight road pattern on the rest of the island. There are some nice squares and parks but you could improve them a bit more.. ;) except that: I like it!

Thanks for stopping by! Yeah, I've felt like changing the city structure after seeing CJs, but this was my first citiesxl city that I've ever built. It's transformed over the years but too much memories to rebuild anew! I'm too attached to it. Thanks again :-)

    4/5,
Top level Journal, i like the history and all the information around. The city itself lacks some details maybe, like decoration, the streets on waterlevel and more variety in general.
Nevertheless i like what i see, good job!
