Welcome to Siorez, a French city located in the north of the region "Midi-Pyrénées", on a tributary river of the Dordogne ; L'Ouysse.

History :
A Roman town was built in 128 AD but the city was destroyed during the Barbarian invasions.
In the 7th century, a village called Siorez is built on the other side of the river, other villages also grew up there. The area is occupied by England during Hundred Years War but in 1375 France recover the region.
The northern part of the river belongs to a more or less independent fief where an extension of Siorez called Les-Deux-Monts was growing up. The southern part, where Siorez is, belongs to the King. In 1607, the whole area is attached to Royal Domain, at this time, the city became bigger and bigger and marshes are drained. In 1801, the construction of a new district, "Siorez-La-Neuve" was started. Coal was discovered around 1880, a new channel was dug and and industry developed, but the small amount of coal discovered exhausted quickly. During World War II, the city is damaged by German army during its retreat.
Now, Siorez is one of the most important city in Midi-Pyrénées, tourism and business grows thanks to a large population but also the highway, the canal and the big railway station.

For the story, I've started to build this city for the bootleg city contest but it was only the beginning when the contest ended, so i didn't posted the embryo of the city. But I continued to build it and now make a CJ. The right part of the map is finished, the left one remains to build.
