    time for a little update!

I'm advancing (slowly) on my Paris pack. I have already five buildings almost done and just got started with one of the non residential buildings - a T4 retail shopping center based on the Au Printemps department store on Boulevard Haussmann.

    gamescreen0058.jpg gamescreen0059.jpg gamescreen0061.jpg gamescreen0062.jpg

The plan is to have around 15 residential buildings with different dimensions and angles (45, 135, 270 like in previous packs) for all 4 wealth levels. Some of those buildings might be also cloned as hotels, offices or retail, just to have a variety of Paris-looking job-providing buildings.

Besides the standard models I plan to make a few large, iconic buildings inspired by real life counterparts, like the Au Printemps department store, the Musee d'Orsay or the Gare Saint Lazare.

I'll also experiment with roundabout-friendly models; it takes some time to figure out the dimensions of the road so the facade of the building looks good. Nothing to show really, but so you can have an idea:

    More updates soon!

Great job! for the roundabot, use ninjaripper to extract the roundabout model from the viewer so you can use it as reference.

Oooh! Looking very promising. I'm anticipating these.

Also, I second Dreian's requests/suggestions. Most if not all of those look like they would make good models, esp the La Crillion and Fouquets Hotels.

Also, I too would like to make some requests for Paris buildings:

Well then you have a lot of Embassies that are very nice (Belgium, Niger, Ireland...)
And a nice little site with some focus on details of buildings!

I took the liberty of putting all of those images in spoilers. Let's not flood this thread with them please, even if they are for inspiration. (y)

We should be happy that some people spend their free time working on new stuff in order to increase our enjoyment while playing CXL. Please be patient and thankful above all things.

I'm not saying I'm not happy that we have such individuals to contribute to the community, but rather because I was excited about this particular project, I was simply stating that I was disappointed that there haven't been any recent updates. This isn't to put the author down or anything, just a means of expressing my own feelings about the fact that there haven't been any updates. One can at least do that right? After all, doesn't it show how much I care? Doesn't it show my interest in the author's work? Because I am thankful indeed. I might have to work on patient though. ;)

just a quick update to bring some joy to this thread! a few pictures from the 3d models:

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and input. I can't guarantee that all the ideas will make it to the pack, but I'm sure that you will enjoy it when it's ready!

thanks for the advice; I tried it but I didn't manage to get it work with the viewer... I'm really not bright, as you see. In the end I opened the roundabout models in the viewer and measured them activating the grid layer... a nore rudimentary way, but it worked!
