    I just got XXL today, downloaded it to my computer, except it's through the steam app, that's the only way I was able to install it, there weren't any other options available. How would I add xlnation community mods to steam games? Or how do I bypass steam when downloading so it could download directly to my program files folder? I hope there's a third alternative that is rather much simpler, things are changing quite a bit, a little too fast for me to keep up with.

    Be sure to go to steam and "Un-Subscribe" all mods there, including the community mod.
    Start and close the game. (to auto remove some steam mods)
    Delete any mods that remain in your "paks" folder.
    then:
    Create a folder called "mods" here:
    your pc......c:\Programs\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities XXL\Paks\mods
    Go to:
    Cities XXL (2015) | XLNation - Cities XXL
    View a mod and click "download now", save & place it in the folder called "mods".

    Note... Dependency mods you must use:
    Dependency - Cities XXL Community Patch
    Dependency - XL Nation Furniture Dependency Pack
    Recommended:
    General - Fix for old mods shader crash errors (XXL)

    I think Steam has a "Play Offline" option if you choose.
