    Heads up Map Makers!
In anticipation of the next City Map Building Contest, I decided that instead of me just picking a new map, the community will vote a map for the contest from the official entries. Hopefully our map makers will rise to the challenge.

    The Rules:
    1. It must be compatible with XL and XXL
    2. You cannot upload the map to XLNation until the winner is announced. (Cant give folks an early start)
    3. You may only submit photos for the contest.
    4. It must be a new map
    5. Multiple entries are allowed from each map maker

    Schedule:
    1. Now to December 5th - Create your maps and even share advanced photos on this thread for comments and encouragement from the XLNation community
    2. When you are satisfied submit your official entry on the Winter 2015 Map Thread
    2. Community voting for 10 days (December 5 - 15, 2015)
    3. December 16, 2015 Winner Announced and the map maker(s) can upload all their creations
    4. December 16, 2015 to March 15, 2016 - The City Map Bulding Contest will take place on the winning map from this contest.

Think I'll give this a shot.
There's probably only going to be a handful of entries unfortunately, due to the new map maker not being compatible with XL

Yeah I know that sucks, but the city map building contest needs a map that XL players can use as well

That's the difference of CXL map editor and CXXL map editor ^^
Considering it's a rule that the map must be compatible with XL and XXL, I won't(cannot) use CXXL map editor:(

It's probably due to the CXL map editor making everything flatter. Try using The Lake On The Plain map, which is called mountplainslake_01 and in the editor adjust the sliders to Min 0.06 and Max all the way to 1. Hopefully your mountains will look higher.

Yeah that's the problem I have once and a while. I use The Green Hills for the bulk of my flatter maps but can't remember the one i used to keep the mountains high. Possibly the one Funky said.

As a player, I am not sure whether I like that concept.
People will choose most likely the most artistic map, but I guess
such a map is rather not a good use for gameplay.

As a comparison: fancy furniture may be more attractive
to you than just the common shelves, especially when it is for free.
But you will need to invest a lot more time to keep the fancy furniture
clean, and you will probably not find as much space for your stuff
as you had initially wished for.

Its a good idea , but please changed this rule --->You cannot upload the map to XLNation until the winner is announced. (Cant give folks an early start)<-- , its stupid , because people wanna know what they can make on the map , because a map on pictures look totally different than a map wich you can build. Because sometimes islands and maps looks big in Cities XL but when you build on it , it haves lack of space. Or otherwise. xD

But then we get players starting cities way before the competition start date, and that's unfair on the players who stick to the competition guidelines.
