    Short and correct!
    Your turn @veija2
I assume you searched for some buildings
    of the famous architect, Hundertwasser?

Oops. Must have triggered brain freeze. This is why I am in Florida.

Here is another picture of the same American city last winter.

@verners123 helloo back atcha! You're correct; it's America's favorite windy city. Your turn.

@kipate I don't think they do. Most fountains are turned off. I think all that ice is from the freezing rain and sleet that hit, but I don't have the story on it.

It's definitely American, that building just looks so fake... it also looks like the Epsilon building in GTA, is it LA?

Maybe because it has been cleaned. It was built in the early 1890's

Even though no one has made any guesses, I'm not sure if I should give out clues yet.

Here's a much older photo of the same building.

that was a very good clue. I'm grew up in the Midwest. That's Wichita. I think that's the old city hall.

For something totally different, let's try this one. Population is 104,000; elevation is 2320 km.

Yes, I should be more self-confident when guessing...
You got me there, @veija2 , I misinterpreted the shown climate and thought
the fort and the town must have been in a more tropical region.
But my initial guess was right, it is a fort in the north-western parts
of India, it is Amer, Rajasthan.
    But which fort?
From what it looks like, I would say it was Amber Fort,
    and not Jaigarh Fort.
Btw, but did you switch the sides of the photo, mirroring it?

Kipate, good guess, especially since I was recently in India. But the mystery city isn't in India.

The fort is situated up a hill from the Maotha Lake, but is really more at the base of the mountains, not it them. There are probably photos of the fort that are very similar to the mystery city, which is at a much higher elevation - 2320 vs. 431 km.

Also, the population isn't close. Amer is tiny and incorporated into Jaipur, which is over 3 million.

Well, okay, then this looks like another case of two forts looking very similar.
About the population, I thought you had just got some more information than me.
And about the height, well, I thought you had confounded some units,
but seems like you meant metres, so 2320 metres above sea level.
And here for a comparison, Amber Fort:

Edit: We Europeans shorten metres with just an "m", not "km" :D

Hmm. Ho Ho Ho. My bah humbug. The elevation of the mystery city is 2320 metres. The elevation of Jaipur is 431 metres.

    edit:
I did see that image of the Amer Fort, which look very similar. Weird coincidence, eh?

If Forts had brothers, the Fort of the Mystery City would be this one's twin.
So as it is not in India, it must be somewhere in a country close by, I suppose,
seeing these Elements in the Architecture...

Both pics are Amber Forth, none of them are Jaigarh Fort. But google throws images of both mixed when you google search them.

Thanks, Monty. Let me just say again that the mystery city is not the Amber Fort. It is not in India.

The city is 1840 km east of Amer Fort. (Yes, Amber Fort is west of the mystery city, not like my confusing clue for a previous mystery city.) As far as I can tell, it is the only city in the area with a population big enough to be a mystery city.

Someone should be able to nail it.
