Hi, I have to get back to testing why some are affected and other are not. There's some done by supersnake that are light and they seem fine in-game. I noticed that even the pedestrian paths by secpol did not escape the browning ether. The grey path's turn a light brown in-game.
Maybe it's something to do with the game engine Focas used. I'm hoping there's some setting's buried in the data folder or program files folder that we can tweak to stop the browning effect.
I actually do not like the way everything in XXL looks like and prefer the colors in XL as they are true.

I will have a look at those textures this week. I am away for the rest of the week house sitting starting tomorrow so will have plenty of time on my hands :)

I did think about them. @Monty has a bit of knowledge on those so maybe he has some ideas on whats happening.

Thanks Skullz. About XXl colors, Monty released a little pearl where you can tweak setting to your taste. Not easy to find the perfect balance and there's a lot of trial and error, but the good news is you can change it while in game. Maybe worth a try...

It would be good to find the actual cause of the browning though. I had a look though the uncompressed files in the XXL data folder but can't find anything. That's why I'm hoping someone else who has more knowledge of the shaders or skybox can pin point the issue.

I have been using atyo-man2 mods called Detail up parts and found his first two work with XXL but the Vol.3 does not show in the menu.

This is the XL menu version.

I made a few adjustments and got it sorted.

    It's under Custom, Decoration, Trees

It's a 5.8MB ZIP so had to put on MEGA

After Drazic did the smooth road mod I had added the line to Trolcas Bare roads etc... but had forgotten about the over water roads.
I changed the patch a few weeks ago but never posted it here so I'm doing it now. See the attached file.
Don't forget to remove the existing over water roads patch file and replace it with the one I've updated. Works in XXL and XL.
I have had no issues with the changed patch so hopefully no one else will.

Well I'm pretty happy after spending a good part of the day learning the new map editor. Even if the textures are bright with brown patches everywhere LOL.

Whole idea today was to get the process figured out and then worry about the finer stuff. I'll be playing around with the textures tomorrow.
The map is the new one I posted earlier today called comcepcion.

I actually like the brown patches. Gives a sense of realism. the terrain is never uniform.
    Looking very good.

Think I adjusted the texture tiling somewhere.
Did a quick one in World Machine yesterday and spent most of the afternoon learning the layers and texture settings. Turned out pretty good.

Mate, that mountain range looks awesome, but was it possible to flatten the lower lying areas on the other side of the river? Otherwise it would take hours to terraform it all...

I could probably chuck a flat area into it in World Machine.

@Przyski is next in line on the request list.
I'm kinda busy with some huge career ($$) projects, so I was wandering if you might take a look.

    Question:
In your Zamboanga project, are you gonna make the whole peninsula?

I have not looked at that one yet. Someone else may have already made it as it was an old request.
I'll see if I have some time later to go over it and work out how much land area will fit on the 10km x 10km map
