Simbad was founded by Sim Bads in the earlier part of the 19th century on the idea of circular city of 100,000. When this population was reached in 1956, the city sought other ground to settle on, and then expanded on to the eastern and western fronts of the region. These areas are now used for industrial and agricultural purposes that serve for the cities growing population. The downtown and circular grid consist of around 150,000 people.

    center of Simbad.png
This is the center of Simbad. The city hall was constructed in 1889 by Mr Sim Bads at the founding of Simbad. Near by governmental buildings were constructed as the city expanded beyond what Mr Bads had initially expected. When Simbad reached a population of a million in the early 90's the city hall was expanded to accommodate the cities needs. Some criticize the sharp contrast of modern and traditional architecture of the city hall, however many found it to be to overbearing and expensive to construct the city hall in a traditional stone architectural style.

Simbad had an electronic boom in the 80's as the era of video gaming consumed the city. 5 arcades were built in the city during a 2 year span and the city was host to many early video gaming conventions. This poster was the main theme of the reunion of the 1981 release of Galaga, as the city celebrated with a pixel themed convention for that years video game releases.
