    You can do it in the layout file.
    What is the size of the building?
    Let's say it's 10x10, then the plug should have this position: 0, - 5, 0

    It looks correct in the max file, but there might be sth wrong in the layout file(s)

    Pepino is right.
    Check the first junction. It has to be at the plug (it looks disconnected in the 3ds screenshot). Also, check the Plug ID in the junction section of the layout file.

    Hi,
    The plug should normally be
    <Position>0,-7, 0</Position>
    <Rotation>0,0,0,1</Rotation>

    The weird numbers in your position are normal, "e-XXX" happens when they have many decimal places...

    They are not necessarily bad - they are simply exact.

    Just open the layout file in notepad++ and rewrite the values. The layout creator program is just a tool to easily write the file based on what objects you have in the max file. But you can change it as much as you want, without touching the max file.

    Altiris' guide says the 1st junction should be positioned on the same spot as the plug, yours is slightly away from it. I'm not sure if that would make any difference, but it worths a try. Also make sure the track/junctions are set correctly

    no thats not strange, they connect the following
    Untitled 1.jpg
    you will see: if you use wider roads they will connect to them
    sry, thats not a solution i know :(
    if u want u can send me the files, ill do some experiments

    Another "solution" is just to use Avenues with these buildings, or one of the on-parking-roads or use a "connection" as follow:

    [IMG]

    My models are 8 x20, 12 x20 and 10 x20 and they have the same issue as Axel's
    If I put the tiny road to connect them it doesn't work but if I put another road in front of them even a pedestrian path does the job. If the road is 40m away it does not connect, it has to be as near of the model as possible

    In the pictures all of them have different layouts, some of them have plugs, junctions and track others don't and is the same result.

    Two of them have the layout made byt the book, is the same.
    Other two have the layouts completely blank and is the same
    And the last pair just have the plug and is the same

    My only solution is to get rid of the <MustConnectToRoad>1</MustConnectToRoad> if you don't want to think about a complex urban planning.

    Another solution is to use these kind of models (if they're connected to roads) just with avenues or the combination of plazas or parks or models that don't connect to roads and even they have to be no more than 20m depth

    That's all I got right now, unfortuntely not a solve-all solution

    I apologize for my previous post. I have solved the problem, in my case the problem was that CXL was calling the layouts files in a wrong address and so when I made it to call all the layout files in the right address the files that got plug, track and junctions were the ones that worked perfectly.

    Axel, try to use this model for your layout file.
    I use an example of 14m depth

    Look your parameters (X,Y,Z)

    Plug = -3.04683e-007,-6.00282,7.09492e-007
    Junction 1 = -2.40814e-005,-5.375,0.0
    Junction 2 = 0.0,-4.12828,0.0

    Plug and junctions aren't aligned. Furthermore, the plug is 7 meters high o_O.

    Try these parameters:
    <ID>Plug001</ID>
    <Type>PLUG</Type>
    <PrototypeFile>data/design/editor/plug.class</PrototypeFile>
    <Position>0.0,-7.0,0.0</Position>
    <Rotation>0.0,0.0,0.0,1.0</Rotation>
    </LayoutEntry>
    <LayoutEntry>
    <ID>Junction001</ID>
    <Type>JUNCTION</Type>
    <PrototypeFile>data/design/editor/track/trackjunctionUntagged.class</PrototypeFile>
    <Position>0.0,-7.0,0.0</Position>
    <Rotation>0.0,0.0,0.0,1.0</Rotation>
    <Junction>
    <PlugID>Plug001</PlugID>
    <IsAddress>1</IsAddress>
    </Junction>
    </LayoutEntry>
    <LayoutEntry>
    <ID>Junction002</ID>
    <Type>JUNCTION</Type>
    <PrototypeFile>data/design/editor/track/trackjunctionParking.class</PrototypeFile>
    <Position>0.0,-6.0,0.0</Position>
    <Rotation>0.0,0.0,0.0,1.0</Rotation>
    </LayoutEntry>

    If it connects to a wider road (or a road parallel, as Big Meany said) then the plug is in a wrong position. You can see the plugs which don't connect are beyond the middle of the road. That is the snapping border. It's not the side of the road, but it's middle. That's why it snaps to wider roads, but not the narrow ones.
    Change the position of the plug in notepad++ to what Loken tax wrote above and it should do it.

    Can you take a look at the log?

    I had the problem that CXL was caliing "H_SuiBob" directory while my layouts files were in "H_Eli". That could be it because any of the layouts above should work
