Thanks :) but it is just the beginning :D
I thought of putting the harbour outside of the lagoon, so I don't need to care that much about bridge height.

    Well, I try the contest,
It's my first time! Please be indulgent,

As I prefer the countryside, I rework the map, in order to give it a hilly countryside aspect,

I must admit that it is quite complex to make beautiful scenery with Cities XXL,
But, I hope that this first image will excite you?

Excellent work so far! I love your work with the bridges, it all looks so realistic! And especially your highway exits/ramps; I like that you avoid these ultra-steep exits/ramps that you see elsewhere.

Your town has already become my favourite :)

And I am glad that you chose the landside, so we both do not compete about the same theme (as I am building a metropolis rather than a rural area):

How are you guy's getting on with digging? Is there enough depth to achieve what you want?

Regarding the megascreenshots and their size. . . remember you can always go mid-way.

I guess many people produce fullHD (1.920 x 1.080 px.) images, so their megascrenshots are coming at a pixel size of 7.680 x 4.320 px.
A mid-way solution would be UHD-1 = 3.840 x 2.160, the 4K format, shrinking the megascreenshot and also converting it at .jpg format at the same time.

I have produced some very very acceptable quality screenshots this way and their size is around 600Kb - 700 Kb which is also a very good size for the thread. It can really go less than the 2Mb we were talking about and still the quality and the detail will be very good.

Megascreenshots are good but remember: they do produce jagged images for some of the older mods and at certain angles, so this is a concern all the time. ;)

    ------------------------------------

I am tempted get a new graphics card that could upscale all this to crazy sizes. . . perhaps a 4K card to get giant jumbo magescreenshots, stil i don't know if the game would produce so. It is a crazy idea though now with the current fiscal issues i guess + it would raise my game-obsession to a new level lol. . . :ROFLMAO::notworthy: :sneaky: . . . not a good idea lol

    Opinions?
What picture size do you think is good? for the competition and in general.
Would the game produce jumbo images if i had a jumbo graphics card?:angel:

    I always use 1920x1080 pictures (between 800Kb and 1.5Mb)

I always take megascreenshots and reduce them
