Please select your three favorite cities from the Bootleg River Map Challenge. The top 3 vote getters will be the winners. Your votes cannot be changed so choose wisely. You cannot view the poll results until you have voted.

Because the thread with entries is so photo intensive and takes some time to load, the poll was moved to a new thread. Everyone worked pretty hard at this so please review every entry and then make your decisions.

Here is my suggested method for voting:

    1. Open the Official Entry Thread in a new browser window by right clicking on the link.

    2. Go make a sandwich or get a cup of your favorite beverage, heck do some pushups, and pet your dog while you wait for the thread to load.

    3. After the page finally loads with all the entries, review the results, consider your choices then cast your vote here. To make things easier the poll is listed in same order of the submissions.

Personally I want to thank everyone that participated or cheered us on. We had a great time. We will do this contest once or twice a year to keep it special, on a new map of course.

First of all, I want to thank you @IcyHot for having hosted this fabulous challenge.
It was one of a few threads were people really stayed on topic (almost)
all the time (regarding the forum thread). Also I found and still find it awesome
that even competitors have encouraged each other, you don't see this everywhere.

It is a pity that in the end, there are only 19 entries, I had hoped for more, but I also
see that other ones had to handle other things (testing CXXL, for instance)!
Nonetheless, it will be a tough choice for the category winners. For the overall winners,
I would opine that the guys who could mostly finish their cities would have a natural
advantage, but maybe I am wrong, who knows :)

I suppose that the next competition will be held for CXXL?
What a pity, as I really do not think that I will my current project very soon.

Edit: @skullz613 , was it not Bootlagging City? :p

I support Kipate's suggestion by making the next challenge to be run on CXXL :)

This got me back into playing CXL again. It was the first time in years that I stuck with the same city for so long. Can't wait for the next one.

The silly thing is, I played this map a few weeks before released it and thought 'What a stupid map'. I'd always wanted to make a map like this and although it looked nice it was just too hard to build on. Then this comp came along.

    Thanks Icy.

I find that also when I build on my own maps. I don't know why. I'm having the same problem at the moment as I attempt to build a city on the Hyperborea map I made. I feel like using the big bulldozer tool and starting it again

ha might try again that my connection seems to be running faster again. Thank Icy.
Maybe need to rethink how future challenges are done, split them up somehow.

Well done.. surprise to see a good number of 'Vegabond' participated. Actually I was expecting a lot more seasoned builders in this competition but no.. a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to get inspired by realistic looking cities, White Salmon.. and airports, I love building realistic airport. I will participate in the next competition, for sure.

@Alfirdausi , many of the experienced players unfortunately did not have time to participate,
as they were executing other city projects, and I would dare to say that those projects
took at least the same amount of time for them :)

@nicko2u , I would opine that people in later challenges try to
use jpeg-optimizer tools. There is a free site with the same name,
and you can significantly lower the file size without losing much quality,
heck, in most cases you do not even notice you lost a little quality
    of the image.

Icy I think you should display a message on the front page about how voting is open. Not many have voted considering how many members we have.

Well, @nicko2u , you do not even have to know how to,
the method is just like search for the image, look for the level
of quality you wish for, and the click on "compress".
This is as easy as drinking water (yeah, I know the gif :D ).
Besides, IcyHot could declare it to be mandatory, so
"Not caring" will lead to a removal of e.g. megascreenshots.
It is not that compressing images would take too long.
Sometimes it can be one or two minutes, but then you compress
    a 40MB megascreenshot...

    Maybe it's your connection?
Our connection is reasonably good but I connect by wireless and they still load for me.
