We don't know if there will be weather. The game appears to have some interesting skyboxes, however.

The description in the YouTube video is even more informative:
    Hopefully helpful,

Well, i think 1000 buildings and 70 maps were already available in Platinum. So far only the skies and the multicore support are really new announcements. They mentioned some new features as well. Let's wait and see. Hopefully FHI can deliver a bit more to this game.

Rails and bigger maps! yup I can imagine..that would be worth getting!

Actually I remember a year ago some one was rewriting the "lua calls as a mod and they sent it to FH and then told us..lets see what happens...I wonder?

Four zoning densities and new UI, park and ride transport option and other Green options. I think I saw an E-car charging station in the trailer. Pity about the traffic AI still using a single lane at a time through intersections and no building construction animations. But a very exciting day for Cities XL fans! We're back baby!!

I just think that if FHI actually released something NEW they would make more money and satisfy players

The current game has enough potential to be a classic if the work is put into it. FHI need to understand what is wrong and lacking with CXL in order to satisfy their players and attract new players for a decade or more like SimCity4 has. The multi-core lag issue and the UI have been addressed. But people are screaming for intercity trains. People hate the token trading system. And it's the little things that CXL lacks like the traffic UI using more than one lane at a time at intersections, emergency services animations and building construction animations that make the city feel alive. FHI only need to visit City Skylines' Forum to find out what city builders want. It's a shame they didn't converse with this community during the design of CXXL.

in the video only the sky, and a while nothing new.
I have many ideas that could revive the game.
One example "cities in motion", it worked out many of the details, but the graphics bad.

What you can borrow from there:
    1. Many of transport (cars, buses, metro, monorail, trolley, tram, train).
    2. Study of roads
    - various sidewalks (can choose the texture of the pavement in road construction)
    - rail tram at the intersection.
    - High-quality asphalt texture
    can still something...

that would like to see in "cities XXL":
In addition to supporting multi cores, the new graphics engine, the removal of a memory leak.
    - Support many polygons model and optimization of their in game
    - Realistic vegetation and trees of the packages can Greenworks Xfrog Plant Bundle
    - Implementation of dynamic structures (water, fountains, a movement in the wind, construction and demolition, the movement of boats on the water, smoke)
    - Really high quality graphics, photorealistic textures.
    - Implementation, translucency, reflections in water, in glass office building.
    - Realistic bridges
    - Different structure of roads and junctions.

This is what I think will happen(hope) I believe 75% of their buyer base is us.
So I think they know what we want, they were able(it appears) to make bigger maps and multy core support.
The other stuff is for new player base.
However they know everyone wants trains, so I am thinking there will be an add on/DLC in the future of XXL

Let us not have too high expectations!
If it was only a sustainable (I do hope that I am using the word correctly here)
multi-core support, I would already be satisfied,
as such was the number one improvement.
Bigger maps? Maybe at most 15kmx15km, which yields a 225 square kilometres large map.
But that is a really huge amount of space, if not already too much.
The Background Sky looks like a nice addition, as it allows people
to have nice shots even without having to invest hours into Photoshop Work.
    Trains? Maybe as an add-on...
Maybe some small things like more realistic looking people, in case
this did not work opposite to multi-core support.
Let us see how it turns out :)

Maybe in the next expansion pack after Cities XXL, hope we'll have disasters so we can destroy our cities we built.

It's listed as coming soon on Steam. There's two new screenshots on there too.

What I can tell is that FHI does read these forums and they play with our mods, but yes, they do not communicate with us here on the forums.
So at least there's some win in this situation.
